Rick Raxlen's film and video work has been screened nationally and internationally,including venues such as the National Gallery in Ottawa, AGGV, HotWired AnimationExpress and the Museum of Modern Art in New York.His short animation of recent years has won prizes at Ann Arbor,Portland,and Victoria--it has been included in tributes to Canadian indie animation at festivals in Dresden,Budapest,Zagreb,Ottawa,Annecy and other venues. His work is often autobiographical and often uses rotoscope. He has worked with Gilbert Taggart as his cameraman,and Kevin Hartley as his recent postproduction editor.

The five Quicktime movies on this site are examples of Rick's work in the last ten years.
They include, from the top, from left to right ,"Horses In Winter", a feature shot in 16mm,"The Geometry of Beware", an experimental animation short using found Mutt and Jeff material and a short dance video called "Slippage"...
